Thank you for choosing us for your eye care needs.

We’re excited to welcome you and provide an eye care experience that’s refreshingly different.

Dr. Berry takes pride in offering comprehensive, unhurried eye exams where your needs come first—always. Our approach is personal, not high-volume. We don’t work with a revolving door of patients or spend time navigating the red tape of insurance companies. Instead, we devote our time and attention to what truly matters: you and your eyes.

We are a self-pay practice, with payment due at the time of service. While we don’t accept vision insurance, you're welcome to file with your provider for reimbursement. We choose to stay insurance-free so we can focus 100% on delivering quality care, not on cutting corners or watching the clock.

If you value expert care, individual attention, and a more thoughtful approach to your vision and eye health, we believe you’ll feel right at home here.

Once you experience the difference, we’re confident you won’t want to go anywhere else.

We can’t wait to see you!

Dr. Lettie Amanda Berry, O.D.

Dr. L Amanda Berry

Dr. Berry's journey in the field of optometry has been one of passion and dedication, rooted in her Middle Tennessee origins. She established her own private practice in the Nashville/Green Hills area in 1993, marking the beginning of her impactful career. Her path to becoming an optometrist began at a remarkably young age. A mere three years old, she contemplated her career choice, setting a deadline of one year for herself. At just four, she decided on the path of an eye doctor, a choice that has proven to be the most rewarding of her life.

Dr. Berry pursued her education at Arkansas State University, skillfully financing her undergraduate years through academic honors, scholarships, and teaching baton lessons to young girls. With a major in Biology and a minor in physics, she delved into her studies, embracing her inner nerdiness and even finding enjoyment in physics. Her determination to embark on her optometry journey led her to complete her undergraduate studies in just three years. In 1991, she achieved her Doctorate in Optometry from Southern College of Optometry. Her education was complemented by a robust internship at an Indian Health Services hospital, where she extensively focused on the treatment and management of Diabetic Retinopathy. This experience honed her expertise and therapeutic certification.

A dedicated member of the optometric community, Dr. Berry holds affiliations with the American Optometric Association, the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians, and the Middle Tennessee Optometric Society.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Berry cherishes moments spent with her family—her husband Steve and their children, Emma Grace and Sophia. She embraces her interests in travel, cooking, and golf, seamlessly balancing her passions with her role as a teacher in Sunday school at Covenant Presbyterian Church.

People often inquire how she knew her calling at such a young age. The clarity she sought didn't fully materialize until she had practiced for a few years. It was then that she recognized that her work as an optometrist was a divine calling—a true ministry that she embraces with unwavering dedication each day.
